Galvano Therapy
Cancer Treatment using low voltage direct current – Galvano therapy
Galvano therapy, which was named after its discoverer, the Italian anatomist, doctor and biophysicist Luigi Galvano (1737 – 1798), generally comprises methods of treatment which focus on the healing of diseases using low voltage direct current. Although Galvano therapy was used in various ways in the 19th century, nowadays it is only used in a few areas of medicine. For example, it is used in connection with joint complaints of the musculoskeletal system (electrotherapy). A further, recently rediscovered area is the alternative treatment of cancer. Galvano therapy is used here under abbreviations such as ECT Therapy (Electro-Cancer-Therapy, Electro-Carcinoma-Therapy), BET (Bio-Electro-Therapy) or PET (Percutaneous Electro Tumour-Therapy), which should not be confused with PET (Positron-Emission-Tomography), which is used as a method of diagnosis but, however, has nothing to do with the electrotherapy mentioned above. During this kind of Galvano therapy, the cancer cells are destroyed by electrolysis in that two electrodes (poles) are attached to the tumour between which a direct current field is generated. As a result, the cell growth is caused to die off in a sterile state (aseptic bio necrosis). Due to its high success rate, Galvano therapy as ECT has also already gained many supporters in the field of traditional medicine and, in contrast to conventional methods such as surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, it promises a significantly gentler, painless alternative without serious side effects. In addition it is significantly cheaper and less time consuming.
